Top 2010
With 2010 winding down in autumnal style, now might be a good time to take a look at the year’s top grossing movies. But before we get to the countdown keep in mind that these are “top grossing” and as such you’re going to see many and wonder “what’s up with that.where’s The Book of Eli, Shutter Island or Inception,” so keep in mind that the list is not about “critically acclaimed,” but money makers; and since parents spend so much time (and money) taking their kids to the movies, doesn’t it just make sense that the highest-grossing films would be aimed at that demographic? Yep. So, here they are with the 1 movie, Toy Story 3, raking in over 1,059,585,965 (that’s over one billion) thus far.
- Toy Story 3
- Alice in Wonderland
- Inception
- Shrek Forever After
- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
- Iron man 2
- Clash of the Titans
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Despicable Me
- The Karate Kid
Of particular interest (and great fodder for party conversation in 2011), the above list includes four animated movies the only time a “highest grossing list” has contained this number.
